A mid-size law firm, Maloney, Bean, Horn & Hull is located in the Las Colinas business development on the outskirts of Dallas, Texas, not far from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The Firm’s lawyers practice in general civil and appellate litigation, product liability, aviation, small business counseling and general transactional matters. The Firm serves a wide variety of local, national and international clients. Our Firm attorneys are admitted to practice in the state and federal trial and appellate courts in Texas and several attorneys are licensed to practice in other states.
The Firm’s philosophy is simply stated: Provide high quality legal services at a reasonable cost in order to help the client solve his or her problems.
We believe that the cornerstone of the lawyer-client relationship is communication. Our lawyers pride themselves on being readily accessible and responsive to our clients and in keeping our clients informed with timely reporting of case developments.
Our goal is to dispose of our client’s file in our clients’ best interests. This requires a prompt and thorough investigation and an early joint decision with our clients on the appropriate course of action. For example, in litigation matters, we understand that our client’s interests are not well served by dragging out expensive discovery for months or even years and then “settling on the courthouse steps” when the information necessary to make a settlement decision has been available since early in the case.
We work hard to keep our clients’ costs as low as possible. We believe that lower costs begin with a competitive rate structure and proper case management. Unless the client requests otherwise, the “day to day” legal work on a file is accomplished by an attorney or paralegal at the lowest billing rate consistent with high quality service. With client consent, our associates and paralegals are encouraged to work directly with the clients to efficiently move a file toward resolution. A shareholder or senior attorney will first chair the trial and is always available for consultation or to move actively into case management if necessary.
When you visit our facility, you will not find paneled walls, marble floors or circular staircases for the simple reason that we do not believe our clients should pay for them. What you will find is a modest facility that incorporates the latest in computer technology. For example, all incoming and outgoing case materials are electronically captured for transmission to our clients and for retrieval from offsite locations. All of the legal research is performed “on line” through high speed access to Westlaw® at a significant cost savings to our clients. A 24 hour T-1 access to the Internet through our on-site servers provides a high speed e-mail connection and allows our staff the use of the vast governmental and legal resources available — all at no cost to our clients.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss our rate structure, billing procedures and other cost containment measures.
